"We've always communicated really well," she said. "I just didn't want to take out any more loans."

So, the bike has to go, and Steve Dyer would like to sell it as soon as possible to get his money back. Then, the Dyers will likely purchase a new motorcycle next year.

"She has told me that we'll save up cash and she'll help me pick the bike out," he said.

Only a few people have made offers, he said, but because he's owned it for a month, he hopes to get the highest possible price for it.

"This bike is perfect! It has 1,000 miles and has had its 500-mile dealer service," he wrote. "All wheels have always been on the ground."

Dyer, a firefighter in Salt Lake City, uses the motorcycle as a commute vehicle from Farmington. The motorcycle is better in almost every way than the minivan he had been driving. He gets better gas mileage and has fun, too.

Even so, he said, "Ultimately, it came down to peace in the home."
