The National Guard said Thursday that its Orem-based 141st Military Intelligence Battalion will deploy approximately 40 soldiers next month for an 18-month mission in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

To prepare, the unit will go through Soldier-Readiness Processing at Camp Williams on Aug. 26. The processing includes specialists who talk with soldiers about medical, financial and legal issues.

Once in Iraq, the group's mission will be to provide intelligence support for multinational forces.
