SANDY — City officials responded favorably to a school district study presented to the council Tuesday night.

Results by Educational Consultants Inc. showed the best alternative for the city would be to combine school-age populations with neighboring cities Draper and Cottonwood Heights. This was the third feasibility study presented in the past three weeks to an east-side city.

"I think one of the most significant things on this page that we saw is we are putting in 49 percent of the funding and we have 34 percent of the students," Sandy Mayor Tom Dolan said. "I would vote for something like this. But I feel strongly that we haven't gotten this information out to the residents of Sandy."
