The Utah Department of Environmental Quality has declared today as another red air pollution alert day.

Ozone levels are also expected to be high. Residents in Salt Lake, Davis, Utah and Weber counties are encouraged to leave their vehicles parked in the driveway and use mass transit, carpool or find other means of transportation.

Pollution levels are expected to be unhealthy for sensitive people such as very young, active children, people with asthma, respiratory disease or heart disease. These people should avoid outdoor activity during the mid-morning and afternoon.

Air quality conditions are updated daily at 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., or as conditions change, at www.airmonitoring.utah.gov/api.htm.
