Myriad changes on public lands

The Washington County Growth and Conservation Act of 2006, if approved, would:

• sell up to 25,000 acres of public land.

• designate the Red Cliffs National Conservation Area.

• preserve 219,725 acres as wilderness areas.

• protect portions of the Virgin River under the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act.

• identify utility corridors in the county.

• identify an off-highway system of trails for vehicle use.
