He's on the verge of turning 40 and became a father for the first time when his wife, Jackie, gave birth to their daughter, Sadie, last month. But Adam Sandler assures fans he's still a moron.

"I like being a moron," Sandler said. "My father called me a moron. My grandfather said I was a moron. A lot of times when I'm driving, I hear I'm a moron."

Sandler, who was a "Saturday Night Live" cast member in the early 1990s, stars in the new movie "Click" as a workaholic who ends up with a universal remote control that allows him to fast-forward and rewind to different parts of his life.

The actor said he can relate to the film's message to spend more time with family and less time at work.

"Looking back at the past 10 years of my life, I've been at work more than I've been at home, so I connected with this movie," he said. "And when I watched the playback the other day, I went home. I was excited to get home and do the right thing, be with the family."
