"With a sudden loss like this, sometimes there is unfinished business or hard feelings, but with dad there is none of that," Scott Snow said. "We all knew how he felt about us and you knew how he felt about you because he always told us and you. He always knew everyone's names and he knew your names because he knew you and he loved you."

Elder Holland described "tearful, fun, laughing, sorrowing conversations" he had over the past week with friends of Snow's living all over the world and said Snow "had simply an absolutely great mind and unparalleled people skills." He read a letter to Snow's widow, Marilyn, from the LDS Church's First Presidency thanking her for her service with her husband and assuring her he has "returned home to a loving Heavenly Father."

Then Elder Holland shared his own personal appreciation.

"It's because of him I served a mission," Elder Holland said. "When he returned from his mission in France and gave his homecoming address, I knew I wanted to do that and be what Reub was ... because of the power, presence, impact and sweetness he brought home with him. That has altered my life to this day."
