Free Fishing Day promises best fishing of year
DEER CREEK: Fishing good. Fish caught are mostly rainbows but a few walleyes are beginning to show up.
UTAH LAKE: Success reports vary from poor to extremely good. Several reports of large crappie and blue gill being caught in shallow water by using a bobber with a worm underneath or by using baited jigs. Several large channel catfish are being caught throughout the by using stink baits, night crawler or shrimp.
BURRASTON PONDS: Fair to good for recently stocked trout.
PAYSON LAKES: All lakes are now accessible and anglers are having fair to good success.
WILLOW POND: Fair success for recently planted trout and catfish.
CURRANT CREEK: New reports indicate excellent fishing with reasonably good access all the way around the lake.
PELICAN LAKE: The water is warming and anglers report excellent fishing for bass and bluegill.
RED FLEET: Good fishing for rainbows and browns. Bass are also beginning to bite. Good time to fish for big browns
STARVATION: Good fishing for larger browns, rainbows, walleye and bass. Catch rates for the warm water fish, bass, walleye and yellow perch should continue to improve as water warms.
CLEVELAND: PowerBait or worms produced fair fishing success.
ELECTRIC LAKE: Fishing was good over the long weekend for anglers using almost any bait or lure.
JOE'S VALLEY: Fishing success ranges from poor to good, depending on the day, time of day, weather conditions and angler expertise during the holiday weekend.
