A University of Utah student died last Friday when he fell over a cliff while climbing in Yosemite National Park in California.

Friends say Evan Anderson, 20, was reaching for his camera when he fell nearly 1,800 feet in the area of Glacier Point.

Park police called Anderson's roommate in Salt Lake City when they located his vehicle, which he had loaned to Anderson. They later located Anderson's body.

Anderson graduated from East High School and would have been a senior at the U. this fall. Details of a memorial to be held in his honor have not been announced.
