"There are a number of cut logs around the area. Some say these are trees Powell cut down. Some say the logs he cut were pushed close to the edge and rolled down the mountain. I say let people believe what they want. If they want to think these are the very trees Powell cut, that's great," said Syrett.
What is certain to make this area popular with ATV owners, and even mountain bikers and hikers, is that most of the roads are located at higher elevations, between 7,000 and 9,000 feet, which makes for cooler temperatures in the summer.
Along with the summer ATV trail maps, Ruby's Inn offers cross country skiing maps in the winter that were also produced using GPS equipment and detailed information.
There's no doubt ATV use is up in Utah. Both Owens and Syrett said they receive a lot of inquiries about riding opportunities.
Now, ATV owners, along with bikers and hikers, will have a map they can use with certainty and confidence.
