DES MOINES, Iowa — The Iowa Cubs rallied with four runs in the seventh inning to defeat the Salt Lake Bees 4-1 on Tuesday afternoon. The Cubs loaded the bases with three singles off Salt Lake reliever Jonathon Rouwenhorst (1-3), who then walked Augie Ojeda to force in the tying run.

Buck Coats followed with a two-run single to right to give Iowa a 3-1 lead. The fourth run was scored on a balk charged against Matt Wilhite.

The Bees had taken a 1-0 lead in the second inning on a solo homer by Kendry Morales. They loaded the bases with no outs in the fourth, but did not score.

Jered Weaver had another outstanding outing for Salt Lake, as he blanked the Cubs over six innings. Weaver gave up just four hits, struck out eight and walked two in his fourth no-decision of the season.

Jeff Mathis had two hits to extend his hitting streak to twelve games, the longest by a Salt Lake batter this season.
