Annual tourism conference planned for Ogden
Utah travel officials to discuss 'Take Care of Business and You'
Sponsored by the Utah Tourism Industry Coalition and the Utah Office of Tourism, the event will sport the theme "Take Care of Business and You."
The conference includes a Wednesday working session allowing tourism offices from around the state to review and share their marketing plans, plus a meeting of the Utah Board of Tourism Development, and a later reception at Union Station hosted by the Ogden Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Thursday's opening session will feature Richard Harris, senior vice president of the Travelocity Partner Network. Lunch will feature a legislative update, and Denise Miller, vice president of Strategic Marketing and Research Inc., will discuss the results of a recently conducted nationwide Utah image study.
The Friday agenda includes a discussion on tourism as economic development with author Maury Forman and a presentation by Judy Walden on creating "A Sense of Place." At 11:30 a.m., Gov. Jon Huntsman Jr. will offer remarks on Utah's tourism industry. Utah's Tourism Hall of Fame awards and the first-ever Utah Tourism Marketing and Advertising awards will be presented during the closing luncheon.
Details and registration are available online at www.utahtourism.org or by calling 435-425-3997. Individual registration is $125. Two or more representatives from the same company can register for $75 per person.
