OMAHA, Neb. — Jered Weaver tossed seven scoreless innings and Curtis Pride collected a season-high four hits as visiting Salt Lake trounced Omaha 13-1 on Thursday afternoon.

Weaver (3-1) struck out three and did not walk a batter. The 2004 first-round draft pick retired the last seven batters he faced and did not allow an extra-base hit. Marcus Gwyn tossed a scoreless eighth inning, while Jason Bulger surrendered a run in the ninth.

Pride and Casey Smith each collected two hits as part of the Bees' eight-run seventh inning, which was highlighted by Reggie Willits' two-run double. Every batter in the starting lineup collected at least one hit for Salt Lake (21-12).

Kendry Morales went 3-for-5 with two RBIs and scored twice, while Nick Gorneault went 2-for-4 with a homer, two RBIs and two runs scored.

Omaha (15-18) came up with a ninth-inning run to avoid the shutout. Andres Blanco singled and eventually scored on Paul Phillips' sacrifice fly.

Kyle Snyder (0-2) suffered the loss, yielding six runs on seven hits over 6 1/3 innings. Frank Brooks was victimized for five runs in just one-third of an inning in the seventh, while David Elder gave up two runs in 1 1/3 frames.
