Public voting on the final design for Utah's commemorative quarter closed at 6 p.m. Monday, and it's now up to Gov. Jon Huntsman Jr. to choose which image will be on the back of the coin.

Perhaps coincidentally, Huntsman has plans to be at the Golden Spike railroad monument this week. One of the design choices was two trains meeting at Promontory, Utah, symbolizing the crossroads of the West.

A spokesman for Huntsman said Monday that the governor was scheduled to be at the monument for the annual May 10 re-enactment that depicts the laying of the golden spike connecting the Central Pacific and Union Pacific railroads in 1869. There was no word on whether the visit would be in conjunction with an announcement about the quarter design.

The other two design choices are a beehive and a young female snowboarder.

As of last week, at least 120,000 people had voted online for their favorite image.
