Brent Seamons, assistant fire chief for the volunteer department, said the 15 or so volunteers who responded to the fire had to balance fighting the fire with clearing out the fire station in case the blaze spread.

The fire was contained within about 10 minutes of when the call was received, Seamons said.

Dutcher said he didn't think the fire would have a major impact on his current projects — releasing "God's Army 2: States of Grace" throughout the country and editing his next film, "Falling."

That work is done with negatives that are stored at an archive in Los Angeles.

"To make me feel better, I just thought about Charlie Chaplin, who was in the middle of filming his move 'The Circus' when his main set burned down, so I'll commiserate with Chaplin," Dutcher said.

"Whenever there's a fire, people walk around like it's the worst thing that could happen," he said. "But it's just stuff, we'll rebuild it. I don't like to see people walking around like some horrible tragedy just happened. It's a setback for sure, but that's it. Nobody was inside, none of the firefighters got hurt, so it's just stuff. Now I'll just have to build a better office somewhere else."
