Skousen said he put many old records in the book as "trip wires" to get people to come out of the woodwork with their achievements. The record for most twins in one ward listed in the first edition of his book was about 50 years old.

"I don't know of any better way to get people out of their houses than to challenge them with something that's out of date," he said.

Skousen is gathering records and notable achievements for the book's second edition, tentatively scheduled for release later this year.

Records can be submitted through his Web site, www.mormonworldrecords.com.

And for people who live in wards with a measly 12 sets of twins or fewer, take heart — the Skousen Book of Mormon World Records has about 1,600 more records waiting to be broken, most of them far easier to break than raising twins.
