STOCKTON (AP) — About two tablespoons of liquefied mustard gas was discovered leaking from a container valve at Deseret Chemical Depot, the depot reported Monday.

The leak was discovered during monitoring operations in a storage igloo.

Depot workers in protective clothing decontaminated the container in the igloo. It was then moved to another building where a plug and two valves were replaced, the depot said in statement.

The igloo is covered by earth and the air inside is filtered. No vapor escaped, and there was no danger to the surrounding community, the news release said.
