A life away from politics just isn't in the cards for Janice Auger.

The former Taylorsville mayor hid in the relative quiet of normal life for a few short months. Now she's back, this time running for an at-large seat on the Salt Lake County Council.

Auger, a Republican, chose to run for Democrat Jim Bradley's at-large seat instead of the open District 3 seat currently held by David Wilde. Auger said the council's three at-large members should represent the entire county, and the current council members all hail from Salt Lake City.

"It seems to me like a real pure council with at-large seats would have at-large people who don't live in the same geographical area," Auger said. "Everyone should have a voice."

Today is the filing deadline for November's election.
