OGDEN — Rossignol Group is in final negotiations with The Boyer Co. to locate its U.S. ski equipment distribution headquarters at Business Depot Ogden, the companies said.

Rossignol plans to move distribution operations from Clearfield and Vermont and consolidate them in about half of an existing BDO building by the end of April, said Jim Hunter, the company's chief financial officer, who hopes to close the deal within the next few days.

Rossignol is to lease about 104,000 square feet, said Steve Waldrip, a Boyer project manager. The remaining space, a little less than 100,000 square feet, would be occupied by Fresenius Medical Care, he said.

Ogden officials have been in discussions with Rossignol for more than six months regarding the distribution center, Mayor Matthew Godfrey said.

The relocation of the distribution center to BDO also would tie in with Rossignol's plans to move its corporate headquarters from Williston, Vt., to Park City in the summer.

Rossignol officials have said the move to Park City will provide the company with a unique venue to improve its products and marketing presence. Rossignol had been considering opening a distribution center in the Salt Lake area but believes BDO is the most viable location, partly due to its closeness to I-15 and Salt Lake City International Airport, Hunter said.

Business Depot Ogden formerly was a military storage facility, Defense Depot Ogden.
