LAST-MINUTE ITEMS

Both teams appear healthy. Pittsburgh went through a 20-minute walkthrough Saturday morning at a bubble facility next to the Silverdome in Pontiac, Mich., site of the 1982 Super Bowl. There were no changes to the injury report — safety Troy Polamalu had been listed as probable because of a sore ankle. Seattle had a 30-minute walkthrough at Ford Field, where today's game will be played. All the Seahawks participated and were expected to play.

ELITE COMPANY

The Steelers, with a win today, would become only the third franchise in NFL history with five Super Bowl championships. The Steelers are 4-1 in their five Super Bowl appearances, with their only loss coming 10 years ago in Super Bowl XXX against Dallas, 27-17. That victory gave the Cowboys their fifth Super Bowl win. The only other franchise besides Dallas to win five Super Bowls is the San Francisco 49ers, who have never lost a Super Bowl (5-0). Other multiple Super Bowl-winning franchises are: Green Bay (3), New England (3), the Oakland-Los Angeles Raiders (3), Washington (3), the New York Giants (2), Miami (2) and Denver (2). Four teams have made more than one Super Bowl appearance without ever winning: Cincinnati (0-2), Philadelphia (0-2), Buffalo (0-4) and Minnesota (0-4).

INFLATION, INFLATION

A ticket to today's game in Ford Field costs either $600 or $700. That's up from the $500-600 range of the previous Super Bowl at ALLTEL Stadium in Jacksonville, Fla. The last Super Bowl ticket to cost less than $200 was sold in 1995 — $175 for Super Bowl XXVIII between the Cowboys and Bills at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. As late as 1987, a Super Bowl ticket cost less than $100, when the Giants beat the Broncos at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif. Ticket prices for the first Super Bowl between the Packers and Chiefs at Memorial Coliseum in Los Angeles in 1967 were $12, $10 and $6.
