Details of Utah Democrats' public education measures
HB62, Rep. Karen Morgan, D- Cottonwood Heights. Establishes student-advancement requirements and limits class size in K-3 to 20 students or fewer.
HB134, Rep. Carol Spackman Moss, D-Holladay. Appropriates $30 million for reducing class size in elementary school and high school core classes.
HB226, Shurtliff. Allows for earlier assessment of reading and numeric skills of incoming kindergartners.
HB107, Rep. Kory Holdaway, R-Taylorsville. Establishes voluntary all-day kindergarten.
Rep. Duane Bourdeaux, D-Salt Lake, has requested a bill to strengthen language in state law that holds schools more accountable for closing achievement gaps.
Rep. Tim Cosgrove, D-Murray, has requested a budget appropriation for $4 million in one-time funding to expand school libraries.
