Preps of the week
Jordan is averaging 23.0 ppg, tops among 5A players and second overall. As a junior last year, he was third in 5A with a 20.2 scoring average.
"He can take it inside or out," said Northridge coach C.K. Hansen. "He can shoot the 3, take it on the floor or play with his back to the basket. Plus, he's a good passer."
With region play getting under way this week, the Knights (5-4) are among the teams expected to contend with Davis, and it's largely because of Jordan.
"She's a lot more vocal this year," said coach Rick Stoeckl. "It used to be she just led by what she did on the floor. This year she's our game captain and our speaking captain."
The four-year starter is averaging 18.5 points, eight assists and five steals per game, and her play has helped the Jayhawks to a No. 2 ranking this season. Though she has many strengths when it comes to basketball, Stoeckl said, "her passing; her decision making" is her best attribute.
"She basically has the green light," he said. "We thrive on fast breaks, and she leads us in that."
