TAYLORSVILLE — A man who fell off a ladder while hanging Christmas lights Sunday afternoon was airlifted to University Hospital in critical condition.

Capt. Mike Kelsey of the Unified Fire Authority said the man, in his 50s or 60s, fell about 10 feet. He was standing at or near the top of the ladder, hanging lights from his roof, Kelsey said.

The accident occurred about 1:30 p.m. in the 5000 South block of Cheerful Drive (1490 West).

On Nov. 12, a 48-year-old West Point man died from injuries he sustained after falling 18-20 feet from the top rung of a ladder while hanging Christmas lights.
