Salt Lake City Mayor Rocky Anderson is throwing a Halloween costume ball, and everyone's invited.

Tickets are $100 in advance and $125 at the door and, yes, a costume is required.

The first-ever "Rocky's Halloween Costume Ball" is the mayor's latest effort to raise money for the Celebration of Life donor monument at Library Square.

Anderson pledged to raise private contributions to pay for the $600,000 fountain, but last month it was revealed the administration and other private groups had only raised roughly half the total. The bill is due by year's end, and some City Council members are worried the city's library system or the city could be stuck with the bill.

The ticket prices, along with an art sale, will raise proceeds for the monument. The party is 7 p.m. to midnight Saturday at Nouveaux Alt, 353 W. 200 South. For more information, go to www.rockyscostumeball.com or contact the Utah Donate Life Coalition at 521-1755
