Provo mayoral, council candidates to debate on TV

PROVO — Residents who want to see the candidates for mayor and City Council in action will have plenty of opportunities to see them on TV. All of the candidates are scheduled to appear at a Meet the Candidates Night sponsored by the Provo/Orem Chamber of Commerce 7 p.m. Thursday in the Provo City Council Chambers. The event will be televised live on Provo Cable channel 17.

In addition, a taped debate between Mayor Lewis Billings and challenger Dave Bailey sponsored by the Provo Rotary Club on Oct. 13 will be rebroadcast on the same station several times each day starting Monday and running through Oct. 30. The rebroadcasts will air at 8 a.m., 1 p.m., 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.

A taped debate between candidates for City Council will air at 9 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. each day.

A taped forum that featured all the candidates will be rebroadcast at 10 a.m., 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. each day.
