There were just two errors the entire game, and both teams made several outstanding defensive plays. That fact, combined with solid pitching, allowed for a very fast contest. The teams played eight innings in just 1 hour, 25 minutes.

After the game, Smith hailed the contest as Wasatch's biggest win ever, and they'll look to extend their season further when they play top-ranked Panguitch.

"We can play with Panguitch," said Smith.

In other games Monday:

PANGUITCH 26, WENDOVER 0: The Bobcats advanced in the 1A tournament with a victory over the Wildcats. Zac Orton led Panguitch with a three-run home run. Panguitch advances to play Wasatch Academy.

WEST RIDGE ACADEMY 4, GREEN RIVER 0: Wade Whitely led West Ridge with 11 strikeouts from the mound and he went 2-for-2 from the plate, including a triple, as the Eagles advanced past the opening round. Aaron Scarborough added a triple for West Ridge.

WAYNE 4, DUGWAY 0: The Badgers were able to capitalize on four Mustang errors in the bottom of the sixth inning, scoring three runs to pick up the victory and advance in the tournament. Wayne will now face West Ridge Academy on Friday.
