The move caught tribal members by surprise. Many, including at least one current Business Committee member, maintain they still need an accounting of how that money is being used, where it is and how secure it is.

Tribal attorneys and tribal leaders deny that the rank and file have been left out of the loop.

"I have been to . . . three general membership meetings where we went through this in detail," said general counsel Scot Anderson, who added that a half-page summary of the fund transfer was handed out to tribal members at a general membership meeting.

At the special meeting, Grant said, Natchees will be questioned about her "hold-over" claim to the Business Committee's top leadership seat. The Business Committee remains deadlocked over who should assume the post.

Detractors maintain Natchees is only holding onto the seat at the urging of Jurrius, whom she supports.
