"I think these groups are going to lobby or protest this ban on trucks on Legacy," he said. "You're going to hear from us."

Lee Peacock, president of the Utah Petroleum Association, said his group has not decided whether to openly lobby against the ban on trucks. His industry does not support the ban.

"It clearly is a precedent that our industry is not in favor of to designate routes where trucks are not welcome," Peacock said.

Tom Bingham, president of the Utah Manufacturers Association, said he had not seen details of the agreement in principle and declined to comment.

Jim Olsen, president of the Utah Food Industry Association, said membership has yet to determine a strategy to deal with the potential ban on trucks. The association does not support the truck ban, he said.

"It's a good and bad scenario. We're thrilled that Legacy is moving forward. We're very upset that the elected officials did not hold firm in allowing trucks."
