Chandra Salmon

Provo

Bulldogs

Class: Sophomore

Sport: Soccer

Position: Forward

The numbers: Salmon is the young star that coach Cesar Cardoso plans to build his team around for the next three years. She's athletic, quick and hustles and plays with a big heart. "She's a very skillful player and has a strong determination to achieve success," Cardoso said. Salmon scored all five of her team's goals last week in a shut-out win over Payson. For the season, she leads her team with 10 goals.

Mike Muehlmann

American Fork

Cavemen

Class: Senior

Sport: Football

Position: Tight end/defensive end

The numbers: The Cavemen have several stars on both sides of the ball, and Muehlmann might be the best of them. He's strong, aggressive and quick on defense, and a good tackler and a good pass rusher. Offensively, he has deceptive speed, blocks well, runs good routes and great hands. In last week's blowout win over Lehi he caught touchdown passes of 26 yards and 25 yards. He's one of American Fork's five team captains.
