It appears that the Devils have learned from the experience. They are undefeated since the loss, and stand at 7-1-1 overall. The team is in position to repeat as region champions.

"We want to win region," says Swanson. "We have a team that can do that. However, it's a solid region and a lot of other teams have the same goal. We need to stay focused."

If the Devils want to repeat, however, they are going to need Joyner at her best.

"We have a great chance to win region again," says Joyner. "Our team doesn't get down, even when things aren't going our way."

The team's upbeat attitude along with Swanson's leadership has allowed the Devils to learn from their mistakes. The team's 1-0 win over Orem displayed that Springville learned to match the physical play of its opponents. Joyner insists the Red Devils are reaching a new level of play.

"We have a great chance to win region again," Joyner pauses to smile. "After all, we're even better than last year."
