Bush to honor Brigham City man
Willie Hunsaker will receive the President's Volunteer Service Award for his 15 years of volunteer service to the VFW.
Every year, Hunsaker crafts 100 crosses to place on veterans' grave sites in local cemeteries. He also assists in the presentation of military honors for funerals at 12 cemeteries in northern Utah, and places American flags on grave sites for Memorial Day.
The commander-in-chief will fly into Salt Lake City on Monday to attend the annual Veterans of Foreign Wars convention in the Salt Palace Convention Center. The event will run Aug. 20-25.
The visit will be Bush's second visit to the Beehive State since he was elected in 2000. Bush made his first stopover during the opening ceremonies of the 2002 Winter Olympics.
