Alternative routes
With U.S. 6 a major transportation route between the Wasatch Front and eastern and southern Utah shut down, motorists need to consider other travel options:
Those traveling from the Wasatch Front to the Price area can take I-15 south to Nephi; U-132 east to Moroni; U-116 to Mt. Pleasant; U.S. 89 up to Fairview; U-31 east into Huntington; and from Huntington take U-10 north into Price.
Another option between the Wasatch Front and Price and beyond is U.S. 40, which links the two areas via Heber City and Duchesne; then, U.S. 191 connects Duchesne with Helper, north of Price.
Those who would have used U.S. 6 from Salt Lake City to destinations such as Moab and Denver can take I-15 south to the I-70 junction 35 miles south of Fillmore near Cove Fort, then drive to the east.
