Corradini, who most recently lived in South Carolina after leaving office in 2000, now lives in Park Meadows and is using her political connections and relationships to steer business to Prudential.

"It took me a while to figure out what I wanted to do," Corradini said. "I never dreamed I would get into real estate. I had to go to real estate school to start off. I have friendships that I have developed over the years, and I've got both Utahns and people from around the country who want help with their real estate needs."

Jones attributes the spike in real estate activity to a renewed interest in Utah by businesses across the country, and also to the state's quality-of-life perks, which, he said, are driving second-home sales.

"Along the Wasatch Front we have a lot of people who are moving up from one home to another," Jones said. "We have incoming people who are moving companies to Utah. In Park City, we are having a lot of second- and third- home- owners."

Debra Sjoblom, president of the Salt Lake Board of Realtors and an agent with Salt Lake-based Chapman and Richards, said it is not uncommon for homes to sell within 24 hours after being listed.

"I listed a home in Sandy a week ago for $325,000 late in the afternoon, and I had two offers the next day," Sjoblom said. "We definitely are seeing multiple offers. I could have literally, no exaggeration, sold that home 10 times this week."
