In Pleasant Grove, Mayor Jim Danklef filed for re-election and will face Councilman Mike Daniels, who is looking to switch spots on the council. Incumbent Jeffrey Wilson filed to run for re-election to the council.

In Alpine, Kent Hastings filed to run for mayor. Mayor Philip D. Barker has not indicated whether he intends to run again.

There were no filings in Highland, Vineyard or Saratoga Springs on Friday. Each city will vote for a mayor and two council seats. Thus far, none of the three mayors — Highland's Jess Richardson, Vineyard's Randy Farnworth and Saratoga Springs' Timothy L. Parker — have announced their intentions.

Officials in Lehi and Eagle Mountain could not be reached for filing information.

Lane Henderson was the only known candidate in south Utah County to turn in his election papers. He's running for mayor in Salem.

Officials in Payson and Spanish Fork (their offices are closed on Fridays), Elk Ridge, Goshen, Genola and Woodland Hills were unavailable for comment. No one filed in Santaquin, Springville or Mapleton.
