Bus rapid transit: Bus rapid transit has been described as "light rail on rubber tires." Studies are being done to see if BRT could run on I-15, in its own lane, from Utah County to Salt Lake City. BRT is also being planned for use between Provo and Orem.

TRAX: UTA has purchased right of way to extend TRAX from Sandy to Lindon.

Express bus: Utah County express buses have some of UTA's highest ridership. Bus routes could be expanded as needed.

Commuter rail: By 2015, commuter rail should be extended into Utah County. Trains traveling up to 79 mph will run every 20 minutes.

TRAX: Extensions are planned to Draper, West Jordan, West Valley, the airport and Midvale.

Commuter rail: By 2015, commuter rail should extend through Salt Lake County. One stop, near downtown Salt Lake, will be built by 2008, providing a connection into the city for Davis and Weber County residents. Other stops include Murray and Draper or Sandy.
