A man faces felony charges in 3rd District Court after allegedly failing to pay a $48 cab fare.

The man reportedly called a cab Tuesday and requested to be driven to a hotel located at 200 N. Admiral Byrd Drive. According to court documents, once the man arrived at the hotel, he told the cab driver he left his money at someone's house.

The cab driver took the man to the house, but when the man got out of the cab to get the money, he allegedly walked around the back of the house and never returned, according to court documents.

The man is charged with theft of services, a third-degree felony that could land him up to five years in prison and $5,000 in fines — all for failing to pay a cab fare.
