It is time for a change of the General. Jerry Sloan needs to be replaced. My new proposed coaching staff is Jeff Hornacek, Adrian Dantley and Tyrone Corbin. As of late the Jazz have blown large leads late in the game due in part to coaching. Greg Anthony recently said, one very important quality of an NBA coach is the ability to utilize his star players best qualities, Sloan does not do this. Jeff Hornacek was an excellent Jazz player and accomplished all that he did within a rigid offensive structure that did not utilize or complement his talent. Let's take a good look at the Phoenix Suns and move forward with Carlos Boozer, Mehmet Okur and send Sloan riding into retirement on his new John Deere.

Thanks

Chris Stepan

Change players' mindset

Is there a way Jerry Sloan and Co. can turn things around? Definitely, the Jazz have proven that they can play as a team (example: 6-1 to start the season) and can play the kind of basketball that Sloan's system is designed for. A simple way to correct the current problems would be simply to try and change the players state of mind to that present at the beginning of the season.

Should the point-guard position be handled differently? I trust in the Jazz coaches making the right decision here. How can fans know what is best for the point-guard situation when our only reference is what we see on the court? How can I expect to know what is best when the Jazz coaches have 20+ years of coaching experience?

Have Carlos Boozer and Mehmet Okur been worth their big free-agent contracts?

I know that there was hope that both of these players would come here and play up to their All Star contracts. Never mind that Okur was not playing starter minutes in Detroit and even though he had flashes of something great, he was not given the time to fully develop. Never mind that Boozer is still a young player who has shown that he can play at a higher level, but has never had the pressure of carrying a team. I think both of these players need more time.
