JUNE 25: A story appears in the Deseret Morning News breaking the news that Workman is being investigated.

Quote: "Tomorrow's my daughter's wedding, and it's an election year. I think it's politics at its worst." — Nancy Workman

JUNE 28: District Attorney David Yocom announces a bipartisan panel of four other district attorneys to examine the evidence uncovered in his investigation.

Quote: "Obviously there's a possible conflict of interest involved in prosecuting the mayor, who's your chief executive officer, when you're an executive officer in the same county." — David Yocom

JULY 2: Republicans gather at GOP state headquarters, saying Yocom's investigation is politically motivated.

Quote: "If they had confidence in Nancy, they'd be defending her. If they had confidence in the system, they would be neutral. This is 'Shoot the messenger.' " — Democratic County Councilman Joe Hatch

SEPT. 1: The four-attorney panel reaches a conclusion.

Quote: "There is sufficient credible evidence against Mayor Workman to sustain two criminal counts of Misusing Public Monies." — From the panel's report

SEPT. 7: Yocom files felony charges, legally requiring the County Council to put Workman on administrative leave and put Deputy Mayor Alan Dayton in charge.

Quote: "I consider this still Mayor Workman's administration." — Alan Dayton

SEPT. 14: Yocom names defense attorney Mike Martinez as special prosecutor.

Quote: "I don't see that this case is that big of a deal." — Mike Martinez

Sept. 18: The Salt Lake Valley Health Department asks for the return of health money that was used to pay two employees at the Boys and Girls Club.
