The Nancy Workman case
JUNE 25: A story appears in the Deseret Morning News breaking the news that Workman is being investigated.

JUNE 28: District Attorney David Yocom announces a bipartisan panel of four other district attorneys to examine the evidence uncovered in his investigation.
Quote: "Obviously there's a possible conflict of interest involved in prosecuting the mayor, who's your chief executive officer, when you're an executive officer in the same county." David Yocom
JULY 2: Republicans gather at GOP state headquarters, saying Yocom's investigation is politically motivated.
Quote: "If they had confidence in Nancy, they'd be defending her. If they had confidence in the system, they would be neutral. This is 'Shoot the messenger.' " Democratic County Councilman Joe Hatch
Quote: "There is sufficient credible evidence against Mayor Workman to sustain two criminal counts of Misusing Public Monies." From the panel's report
SEPT. 7: Yocom files felony charges, legally requiring the County Council to put Workman on administrative leave and put Deputy Mayor Alan Dayton in charge.
Quote: "I consider this still Mayor Workman's administration." Alan Dayton
SEPT. 14: Yocom names defense attorney Mike Martinez as special prosecutor.
Quote: "I don't see that this case is that big of a deal." Mike Martinez
Sept. 18: The Salt Lake Valley Health Department asks for the return of health money that was used to pay two employees at the Boys and Girls Club.
Quote: "The mayor said she didn't cross her t's and dot her i's on this. Well, we're crossing our t's and dotting our i's." Health Department board member David Wilde
