Either Salt Lake County Republican Party Chairwoman Tiani Coleman was defiant or the executive committee was out of order recently in passing a resolution to remove Mike Ridgway from his state leadership role in the party.

Committee members Thursday night couldn't agree on either issue in a meeting that was supposed to be about whether Coleman violated a committee directive to communicate the contents of the resolution to Ridgway and to state party officials. Ridgway was removed last December from his county leadership post.

Some members agreed Coleman did what the committee asked, but other committee members were upset upon hearing she had injected her opinion that the resolution was "out of order."

Committee member Ric Cantrell finally made a motion to adjourn the meeting at the Kearns Public Library without taking any action.

At that point, the meeting had become about whether committee member Dana Dickson, one of five members who called for the meeting, had been repeatedly "attacking" Coleman in e-mails he sent to her. Committee member Wanda Carrasquillo also raised allegations of back stabbing among committee members before the meeting finally broke up.
