LaKay Stephenson is directing.

Performances are Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $9 for adults and $7 for children (492-0499).

"TAKEOUT COMEDY," a touring Asian-American comedy revue, is being staged for Chinese New Year on Wednesday and Thursday, 7-9 p.m. in Room 203 of the Technology Building at Salt Lake Community College's Redwood Campus.

Heading the lineup is Takeout Comedy founder Jami Gong, a native of New York City's Chinatown. He founded the troupe to showcase a diverse group of Asian-American comedians.

He'll be joined by Ed Cho, RIO and Josh Kaufman, all of New York City, Joey Guila of San Francisco, Shawn Felipe of Hawaii.

Tickets are $10 for the general public, $2 for SLCC students, faculty and staff (limit of four discount tickers per person) and $5 for members of the Utah Organization of Chinese Americans.

Proceeds will go to the tsunami relief effort and the UOCA.

For advance reservations, visit the South Campus Student Center courtesy desk or contact Boondocks Restaurant, 212 E. 500 South (363-1759), Silvana Watanabe (355-8040), Janet Felker (957-4186) or Huong Vu (957-4618).

"LAZER VAUDEVILLE," a Colorado based troupe, brings a high-tech spin to the old-fashioned vaudeville art form that flourished in America between 1900 and the 1930s.

The ensemble will perform Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Murray High School auditorium.

Lazer Vaudeville was founded by former Ringling Bros. clown Carter Brown and jugglers Jeffrey Daymont and Cindy Marvell, all of whom perform a variety of stunts — from pinwheel illusions, rope tricks, acrobatics and slapstick comedy.

Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students and senior citizens (264-2614). The first 15 minutes of the show features black light effects and latecomers will not be admitted during this portion of the program.
