Gov. Jon Huntsman Jr. has agreed to serve as honorary co-chairman of Envision Utah, a public/private partnership formed to guide the state's development.

Spencer F. Eccles, chairman of Wells Fargo Regional Banking, is the other co-chairman.

Alan Matheson, Envision Utah's new executive director, said these two community leaders reflect the public and private partnership that has led to the organization's success.

At Envision Utah's recent annual meeting, eight new board members were also selected to serve three-year terms. They are: Westminster College President Michael Bassis; Utah Appeals Court Judge Judith Billings; Lonnie Bullard, president of Jacobsen Construction; Jim Dreyfous, managing partner of UV Partners, a venture capital firm; Scott Parker of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' Public Affairs Committee, former president of Intermountain Health Care; University of Utah President Michael Young; and former Gov. Olene Walker.

Envision Utah has developed a Quality Growth Strategy to protect Utah's environment, economic strength and quality of life for generations to come.
