State agency director retires
Robert Morgan will retire at the end of this month as executive director of the state's Department of Natural Resources. He was director for the past three years.
His departure marks the end of a nearly 36-year career for Morgan, who spent 17 of those years as state engineer and director of the Utah Division of Water Rights.
The Department of Natural Resources takes in the divisions of Forestry, Fire and State Lands; Utah Geological Survey; Wildlife Resources; Oil, Gas and Mining; and State Parks.
Huntsman hasn't named Morgan's successor yet and is reviewing all state agency leaders and preparing to name some successors.
Elections Director Amy Naccarato announced last week that she is resigning because of the change in administrations and because she has been offered a job elsewhere.
Dr. Scott Williams also announced his resignation as the Health Department's director, after hearing that he would not be retained under Huntsman.
