MWC may have trouble filling bowl commitments

The Cowboys need to pick up a road win at CSU, UNLV or New Mexico and beat either Air Force or Utah at home or both to get to six wins.

Then there's BYU, which needs to win three of its last four. That means a road win at either Air Force or Utah along with two home wins.

After what they've been through the past three seasons, the Cougars would be thrilled to get into a bowl, even if it's the Emerald Bowl in San Francisco. All they need is six victories and they should be bowl-bound.

Any of the other four teams have a mathematical chance to become bowl-eligible with UNLV having the toughest task, needing four straight wins, beginning Saturday at Utah.

Meanwhile, Utah is already virtually assured of a bowl berth with six victories. The question is whether or not the Utes can qualify for a bigger bowl than one of the three MWC-affiliated bowls.
