Salt Lake City will keep its protest restrictions in place for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints' 174th Semi-Annual General Conference, Salt Lake police said Wednesday.

The restrictions prohibit street preachers and protesters from roaming the sidewalks by forcing them into designated areas on sidewalks near the Conference Center downtown. The plan is designed to keep the peace between conferencegoers and street preachers who often decry LDS doctrine as not biblical.
