In addition to a dozen Utah Jazz games to be telecast nationally in the 2004-05 season on NBA-TV and ESPN, all 41 road games and 26 home games will be shown locally by either KJZZ or Fox Sports Rocky Mountain,

The Jazz released their season TV schedule on Wednesday. KJZZ-Ch. 14 will show 40 games starting with the season opener against the Los Angeles Lakers in the Delta Center Wednesday, Nov. 3.

It will also televise both games with the 2003-04 NBA-champion Detroit Pistons, new Jazzman Mehmet Okur's former club.

It will also show both potentially explosive games against Carlos Boozer's former team, the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Boozer left Cleveland under disputed circumstances to sign as a restricted free agent with the Jazz on July 30, when Utah's offer sheet was not matched by the Cavs. Although he had a year left on his rookie contract, Cleveland chose to tear up that contract in hopes of signing him for $41 million, thinking he had indicated plans to stay there. Instead, when the Jazz offered, with NBA approval, six years at $68 million, the Olympian opted for Utah.

KJZZ will also televise all four games with the San Antonio Spurs, and both times the Jazz meet Shaquille O'Neal and his new team, the Miami Heat.

"This is one of the strongest broadcasting schedules we have had in recent years," said KJZZ general manager Randy Rigby, "because of the effective mix of games on both TV and cable, evenly distributed over the season."

FSN begins its Jazz telecast schedule Nov. 5 at Golden State.

NBA-TV will televise seven games starting Dec. 12 at Portland, and ESPN will have five, beginning with the home opener Nov. 3 against the Lakers.

For the 31st consecutive season, Rod Hundley will call the action on both KJZZ and FSN, with Ron Boone providing the color commentary.
