The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints helped distribute 100 free wheelchairs in Bogota, Colombia, to people with disabilities recently.

The effort was in conjunction with the Wheelchair Foundation, which is delivering about 10,000 new wheelchairs this month across the world.

"We are proud of the work with the LDS Church to bring relief to the Colombian people and other people from other nations around the world," said Eva Brook, Wheelchair Foundation Regional Operations Manager. "It is wonderful to witness positive change that comes into a person's life through the simple gift of a wheelchair."

The Wheelchair Foundation, started in 2000, has delivered more than 225,000 wheelchairs to date in 120 counties. Its goal is one million in the next five years.
