Sandy: July 3, 7 a.m. 5K Fun Run begins at Sandy City Hall; 7:30 a.m. breakfast; 8 a.m. flag ceremony; 9 a.m. festival; 6 p.m. parade from South Towne Center around City Hall and back; 7:30 p.m. concert; 10 p.m. fireworks.

South Salt Lake City: July 3, 7:30 a.m. Navajo Hogan 5K run at Fitts Park, followed by breakfast; 9:45 a.m. flag ceremony followed by parade from 2200 S. 300 East to Welby Avenue (3000 South) to 500 East south to Lincoln Elementary, after which a carnival will be held at Fitts Park; 6-7 p.m. sky diver with flags at Granite High; 1-6 p.m. Dutch oven demo and cook off at Granite High; 10:15 p.m. fireworks.

Sugarhouse Park: July 3, 4 p.m. Michael Kendall Harris opening remarks; 4:55 p.m. Providence, 5:50 p.m. Jon Flanders; 6:55 p.m. Peter Breinholt; 7:40 p.m. sky divers; 8:05 p.m. Ryan Shupe and the Rubber Band; 9:10 p.m. Junction City Big Band; 10:10 p.m. fireworks.

This Is the Place Heritage Park: July 2, 3 and 5, 10:30 a.m., 2 and 6 p.m. military muster and drill; noon, ceremony; 12:15 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. grand procession parade; 12:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. fire drill and bucket brigade; 1 and 5 p.m. patriotic speeches; 1:30 and 5:30 p.m. dancing; 3:30 p.m. watermelon-eating contest.

West Jordan: July 3, 7 a.m. flag ceremony at West Jordan High; 7:30 a.m. chuckwagon breakfast; 10:30 a.m. parade at 7000 S. Redwood Rd. in Albertson's parking lot; 8 a.m. 5K Run, at 2200 W. 8000 South; noon - 11 p.m. carnival and entertainment at Main Park; 8 p.m. PRCA Rodeo at Rodeo Arena, followed by fireworks; July 5, 8 p.m. PRCA Rodeo and Family Night.

West Valley City: July 2, 7 p.m. The Mormon Tabernacle Choir and the Utah Symphony at the USANA Amphitheater, fireworks at dusk.

Sanpete County

Moroni: July 3, 7 a.m. flag ceremony, Fireman's Breakfast in City park, fun run; 9:45 a.m. airplane will drop 800 ping-pong balls, each with small prize; 10 a.m. parade followed by carnival at ball park; 1 p.m. family fun trap shoot, city arena west of town; 5 p.m. turkey barbecue dinner at the activity center; 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. pre-fireworks show; 8 p.m. Moroni Idol singing contest with karaoke performances; 10 p.m. fireworks. (Mudd bogg will be held on Aug. 7).

Sevier County

Joseph: July 4, noon, festival at Joseph Town Park; 6 p.m. fried chicken dinner, fireworks at dusk.
