CASPER, Wyo. — Weather is making it difficult for the Provo Angels and Casper Rockies to play their season-opening series. Casper withstood an hour and 20 minute wind delay before beating Provo 5-4 in Game 1 of a doubleheader. Game 2 was a makeup game from Friday's rainout. That game finished after Deseret Morning News deadlines.

The Angels (1-1) opened Game 1 scoring two runs in the first inning. One run was scored off a Nate Sutton walk. Casper (1-1) then rallied in the bottom half of the inning to tie the game at 2-2.

In the bottom of the third, the Rockies plated three runs to take a 5-2 lead. Ryan Fox drilled a two-run home run over the right field fence to give Casper its 5-2 lead.

The game was delayed after the third inning due to high winds. In the fifth inning, Provo's J.R. Renz cut the Casper lead to 5-3 with a solo shot over the right field fence. In the sixth, Billy Boyer recorded his third hit of the game on an RBI double that scored Caleb Maher.

The two teams resume play tonight in Casper at 7 p.m.

CHUKARS 16, RAPTORS 10: At Idaho Falls, Ed Lucas drove in five runs in a victory over Ogden at McDermott Field. The Raptors, who fell to 1-2 on the season, were stymied by five errors.

Ogden will take on the Chukars (2-1) in a two-game set starting tonight at Lindquist Field (7 p.m.).
