Soldier glad to get back to the routine

Salem father enjoys scenery, flush toilets — and time with wife and baby daughter

He missed the mountains and the Utah climate.

Summer temperatures spiked to around 130 degrees.

"It was so hot your fatigues would get stiff with salt from sweat," Adamson said.

Now that he's home, he is focused on trying to get to really know his little girl and renew his relationship with his wife who's been without him longer than she's been with him.

"I think we'll take a vacation, a second honeymoon, hit the beach," Adamson said.

His "honey-do" list includes helping his wife pick out the colors for their new home.

"I had them hold back some deadlines so he could pick things out with me," Kami Adamson said. "No khaki or green!"
